We love to grill and one of my favorite marinades is Teriyaki sauce. Here is my rendition…
1/4 cup low sodium soy sauce
1 finely diced garlic clove
About 1 teaspoon finely diced fresh ginger ( if you don’t have fresh ginger, use a 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger)
1 teaspoon of cooking sherry
A pinch of sea salt
1 tablespoon or so of honey
Combine ingredients and mix well. Marinate meat or vegetables for 20 minutes or more. Cook as desired. Discard any unused marinade.
For sweeter flavor, add pineapple juice. You can also substitute brown sugar for the honey.
